Transparency in Mediation: Our April 2026 Fee Update

At Kee Mediation, we believe that navigating a family separation is difficult enough without the added stress of hidden costs and complex legal bills. As we move into the 2026 financial year, we are updating our fees to ensure we can continue providing the high-quality, personal service our clients deserve.

The “Independent” Advantage

When comparing local providers, there is a significant difference between a dedicated independent service and large, solicitor-led corporate firms.

  • No VAT Savings: Because we operate as a specialised independent practice, Kee Mediation does not charge VAT. For our private-paying clients, this automatically makes our services 20% more affordable than larger regional firms required to add VAT to every hour billed.
  • Fixed-Fee Certainty: Many larger firms bill by the hour for every email and phone call. We offer fixed-fee bundles for your final paperwork, so you know the total cost from the very start.
  • Personalised Care: We aren’t a “legal factory.” You receive a boutique experience where your mediator is personally invested in helping your family reach a lasting agreement.

Maximising Your £500 Government Voucher

The Family Mediation Voucher Scheme remains a vital resource in 2026. Because our rates are streamlined, the voucher goes further with us:

  • Full Coverage: Our joint session rates are structured so that the £500 voucher covers the entire first 90-minute session for you.
  • Added Value: Any remaining balance from the voucher can be applied directly towards another session, your Parenting Plan or Financial Statement, further reducing your out-of-pocket costs.

Our New Fee Schedule (Effective 6th April 2026)

  • Individual MIAM: £140 (A private 1-to-1 assessment to explore your options).
  • Court Certificate: £60 (Applicable only if a signed form is required for a court application).
  • Joint Mediation Session (90m): £210 per person (A clear flat fee with no hidden “admin” or “prep” or “notes” charges).
  • Financial Documentation Bundle: £325 (Fixed fee covering both your Memorandum of Understanding and Open Financial Statement).
  • Parenting Plan: £240 (A comprehensive, written roadmap for your children’s future).

Why Our “Fixed-Fee” Approach is Better Value

Most competitors charge an hourly rate for drafting documents, which can lead to unexpected bills. Our fixed-rate bundles typically save clients between £150 and £300 compared to traditional hourly billing models at larger firms.

A Message to Our Clients: > While our fees reflect 2026 operational costs, our commitment to being the most transparent provider in the East Midlands remains unchanged. We also continue to offer Legal Aid for those who qualify, ensuring professional mediation remains accessible to everyone.
